IELTS Academic
The IELTS Academic test is for candidates willing to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels in a country, where English is a native language. It assesses whether you are ready to study or train in countries such as Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Canada.
IELTS General
This IELTS test is appropriate for those wishing to migrate to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK. The test focuses on basic English skills required to survive in such countries, especially in social and workplace contexts.
Speaking
Speaking test is a 15 minute face to face Interaction/ Conversation with a certified IELTS examiner. This part of the test has 3 section with questions asked about various general topics.
Listening
The listening test is 30 minutes long and is divided into 4 parts with questions ranging from 1 to 40. A variety of questions like fill-ups, selecting the correct option, Directional questions etc are asked.
Reading
The reading test has 40 questions, which are to be answered in 60 minutes. Academic candidates get 3 passages whereas General Training (GT) candidates have to comprehend 5 passages.
Writing
Writing is a 60 minutes test divided into Task 1 (150 words) and Task 2 (250 words). For Academic task 1 is a report while for GT it is a letter. Task 2 however, is a formal essay for both Academic and GT candidates
